omg rewatching some early s1 scenes for a video and derena is SO DISGUSTING right from the start, their 1x02 scene is TERRIBLE. she brings out the judgemental dick on him and he brings out all her insecurities about not being good or enough and right now I JUST CAN’T DEAL WITH THE FACT THAT THEY EVEN CALLED THAT ~LOVE~.

I really can’t understand why darena fans are so uber happy with the way darena turned out. Dan dropped Serena like the bad habit she was and pursued Blair for two seasons and then even after Blair left him without any explanation he still tried to get her back up until 6.05 when he realized he was never going to forgive him for sleeping with Serena.

Then he decided that he was going to manipulate Serena into falling in love with him to further his writing. Chuck really is Dan’s new inspiration. Using a girl to further your career is something straight out chucks playbook.

And it was only while he was manipulating her he realized he still loves her. And even after having that realization he still published the article that would humiliate her because that was the only way she would respect him and he could feel equal to her. Wtf is that? What kind of love is it in which you only feel like you’re getting respect from your partner when you’re raking them trough the mud in print?

Ppl keep saying omg but Dan loves her. She’s the one. The fact that he loves her is not the problem. I’m pretty sure that Dan does love Serena (after Blair said that she hated him). Maybe not as much as he loved blair. But he loves serena as much as he can. The problem is all the other stuff. The problem lies in the fact that he feels like Serena doesn’t respect him. Or he doesn’t feel like her equal until he writes hurtful things about her. Or that he feels like she treats him like a visitor in her world until he buys an apartment in her building. Or how he felt like she was never going to give him a chance until he cyber stalked her and put “lonely boy” on her radar.

And it’s not just that. It’s not just Dan acting like a d bag when it comes to Serena. It’s the fact that they both treat each other badly. It’s that he used her for his career and she used him to get back at Blair in the season 5 finale. They’re just disgusting to each other. I guess in the world of GG that’s true love.

Isn’t it so weird how all of the endgame couples were offensive in some way. Darena were obviously gross for the above mentioned reasons. Chair got married under false pretenses to avoid jail. Georgina got together with a man in the human flesh trade that has a confirmed std. Rufus lost the love of his life to the slime ball that tried to convince her she had cancer. Lily ended up with this fool. All the couples were offensive on some level.

If they had rebuilt DS before 6.05 and not make him say that Dan loved Blair unconditionally or make him try to get back together with her, it would be a little bit, just a little bit, more believable. But they just fucked them up again and again and the fact that Dan was indeed Gossip Girl and that he needed to bash her constantly only to feel good about himself, and that this was his plan all along, oh my God, it just makes it even more disgusting. I keep saying it and no one believes it but I’m so glad neither Dair nor Serenate were part of the crackfest that was this season finale.
